Position Descriptions for Delta Gamma Board Openings
Term: July 1, 2010 – June 30, 2012

President

  • Acts as the executive officer and administrator of all business of the chapter
  • Acts as chief representative at all inter-chapter events
  • Ensures chapter participation at biennial events and provides guidance to complete the duties of the House of Delegates during the term
  • Finalizes committee appoints
  • Communicates the activities of the chapter to the members
  • Assures at least one business meeting annually and at least two program events each fiscal year
  • Arranges orientation and transition meetings for newly installed officers and committee members
  • Ensures all reports are properly filled with International

President–Elect:

  • May succeed to Presidency after one or two year term of office
  • Communicates to the public the purpose of the honor society and chapter
  • May chair committees
  • Learn the chapter operations and facilitate chapter achievement of goals
  • Oversees the Chapter Key award submission

Secretary:                 

  • Records and writes the minutes for each Board of Director meetings and business meetings of the chapter
  • Maintains the roster of members and Board of Directors and committee leaders
  • Maintains and distributes the minutes to all members of the Chapter
  • Submit a list of new officers to International
  • Prepares an annual report to members
  • In charge of mailing and emailing to members
  • Send membership invitation to all elected candidates and new members in cooperation with Governance and Leadership Succession committees

Faculty Counselor:

  • Be a faculty at the university
  • Serves as Chair of Governance Committee
  • Lead the procedure for determining membership eligibility and inducting members
  • Develop strategies for publicizing and informing students and nursing leaders of membership opportunities
  • Secure necessary data from official records of students to determine eligibility

Leadership Succession Committee:

  • Develop members in organizational leadership
  • Mentor members to assume positions in the chapter and international
  • Oversees the selection of members who can provide the necessary leadership to achieve the chapter goals
  • Works with Secretary to notify all candidates (elected and non-elected) of the election results
